The Bennet Rural Fire & Rescue Department held their annual banquet on Saturday, April 5. The evening included social time, a chinese catered meal by Hyvee and dessert with cakes by Pam Eisenhauer, and then a program with awards and special recognitions. Awards were given to those who have served for 15 years: Josh May, 10 years: John Widick and Jeff Davis, and 5 years: Jeff Bruss, Josh Crook, and Chad Petersen. Awards were also given in recognition to members for their extra effort and work for the department: Gary King, also named NEMSA EMT of the Year; Shane King, and Jonathan Fisher. Special recognition was also award to businesses: Pam Eisenhauer / Harmony Massage and Northwest Respitory Services and an extra special award and recognition to outgoing Lancaster County Emergency Management Director Doug Ahlberg. Department members and guests were in attendance.
